Edita Sarukhanyan is a self-taught artist, who was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (1984). She obtained her B.Sc (2005) and M.Sc (2009) in Biophysics from Tbilisi State University (Georgia) and PhD in Chemistry (2013) from joint PhD program between the University of Salerno (Italy) and Jacobs University Bremen (Germany). Edita worked for 6 years as a researcher in the field of computer - aided drug design at the University of Würzburg and since January 2022 she is a full-time artist. Passion towards art she discovered in her early childhood, while making attempts to sketch animals. However, the preferences in themes were changing as she was growing up: First she used to re-draw illustrations from fairy-tale books, then, she created a fashion design collection, later her focus switched to sketching portraits and angels. In September 2014 Edita tried to paint with acrylics for the first time and since then it became her favorite painting medium. The themes of her paintings vary as they are mostly reflecting the pictures spontaneously created in her mind while listening to music or visiting some beautiful places.
"Art grants me a freedom, through which I express the voice of my heart.

The goal of my art is to fill up the hearts with the hope and love as well as spread the ray of joy and kindness to each and everyone".
